Cape Byron Lighthouse The Cape Byron Lighthouse
in Byron Bay is the most easterly positioned lighthouse in Australia.
It has looked out from its position for more than 100 years.
The lighthouse
is located just 2km east of the town of Byron Bay. Car parking is available close
to the lighthouse building for a fee. There can sometimes be a wait to get a park
though, especially during peak holiday periods.
Lighthouse
tours and Accommodation The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service
offers 45 minute tours of the Cape Byron Lighthouse. The tour includes an exploration
of the maritime museum and lighthouse building.
There are two Assistant
Lighthouse Keepers Cottages available for accommodation. The Clarks Beach Cottage
